Acquiring Web Hosting Sevice And Domain Names.?

January 20th, 2010 by Cheap Web Hosting Leave a reply »

Hi
I am from UK.
I intend to start my own on line business but am unsure about two key points:
1, Which host server would I be best to sign up with in terms of cost and simplicity of tools to help me build my own website etc?
2, When I acquire a domain name do I rent the name of actually buy the rights to it?
Appreciate any advice.
I notice yahoo are advertising such services at this time too.
Thanks
Michael

Take into consideration that web hosting is a global service. It does not matter what country you are located in; US, UK, Canada, Australia or India. It is good to note that the cost of hosting services in most countries is generally a little more expensive in comparison to the same services in Canada and the United States. Specifically, American web hosts offer a much better value for money than any local hosting.
As you may know a domain name is just a name, not a real website. If you are going to create your website: 1- Buy a domain name. A domain name is a name you want to call your website (ex: http://www.yahoo.com). To get a domain name, you have to pay an annual fee to a registrar for the right to use that name. 2- Buy a web hosting service to provide your online space and enable you to get your website online at your purchased domain name.

You need a web hosting service which supports online payments like, Master Card, Visa & PayPal. It is very important that your service be uptime. It means that you can access your account whenever you want to update your web pages, and your visitors can view your website whenever they type your website address. If your hosting service is not uptime it is real hell!
If you want to start your website I recommend purchase your domain and hosting together. In this way it is possible to get your domain for free. Some hosting services offer this gift today.
    Take a look at: http://www.threehosts.com/business
There you can reach the three reputable companies that are leaders in the E-commerce web hosting industry. They fulfill all your requirements to sell online or do/accept any online payments. By using each of them, everything you need for such a website is provided in one business Hosting Package.
    Hope this helps.

  2. Best idea, if you’re intending to use a professional web-design company to create your site, is to let them do the registration and hosting for you, otherwise I don’t think you know enough about what options to go for. Make sure they register the domain name with your name & address details. The domain name is registered to you for two years, after which you (or your designer) will renew the registration for a further two years.
However, if you want to do it yourself, I’d avoid the ‘big’ names such as BT, Yahoo and Demon as they don’t give you much control. I run dozens of web-sites and use Heart Internet for both my domains and hosting as you get good service and full control over everything you need. http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/aff.cgi?e…

I can recommend this web design hosting company which we use.http://stylesites.co.uk
When you register the Domain name it is yours providing you keep up the registration fee. Not sure what you mean by the rights to it.
Have a look at the website. its up to you then.
