Can I Use Copyright Names In My Domain Name?

I would like to incorporate the word “botox” in a domain name, but see that the word appears to be copyrighted(?) Would there be a problem with using “botox” as part of my domain name?

Names are NOT subject to copyright protection. See the Copyright Office circular below.http://www.copyright.gov/circs/circ34.ht…
Names, however, may be subject to trademark protection. A trademark owner can initiate a UDRP proceeding against you if you have a confusingly similar domain name.

  2. “Yes”, there would be a problem.
Note – the word “botox” would not be “copyrighted”, but is a “trademark”, and your use could be challenged by the owner of the “trademark”.
Botox® is a registered trademark of Allergan.

I don’t think so! not without them getting their royalty i think that’s the purpose or copyrighting somenthing. just try another name or move it around!

Yep, you can use copyrighted names as your domain. Copyright law does not protect domain names.

Yes. They can sue you or shut you down.
