Yes it is possible to register a new domain name and redirect it to another server. Check http://neond.com
You can buy a .com domain name for $7. If you need help in redirecting your domain name to the server of your choice then you can contacat the support team on the web site by phone or live chat. You can also check the free video tutorials on that web site for step by step instructions.

Yes, register the new domain name @ http://www.IdomainU.com for cheap and comes with forwarding and masking for free!
Then you just set up the forwarding / masking (makes the new address show in bar) takes about 3 clicks.
Or if your host allows aliasing just get the name server addresses and submit them to IdomainU

Just buy the new domain from Namecheap.com. They are the cheapest. Then use their free url forwarding service with no ads to redirect the new domain to the old one. That’s all. Setting up the url forwarding service is not an hectic job, you can find it easily in the domain registration panel.

If you have cPanel access on your web space, you’d just create an add-on domain for the new domain. Then you’d give the nameserver IPs for your old server to the domain registrar. Sounds complicated, but it’s really easy. I’m sure your server company could assist you with this request.

You can also contact your web space provider and enquire about domain redirection. This will enable you to use the new domain to redirect to your existing webspace.
