Just curious and wondering. And those sites that provide domain names, how do they get theirs?

Who Actually Hosts Those Sites Whom Offer Web Hosting?
January 11th, 2010Who Actually Owns Domain Names?
December 30th, 2009Who actually owns domain names? If you “register” the domain name, do you then own the name? Is there only one entity with whom you have to register the name (i.e. is there an official governmental (or any other authorizing body)?)
I want to register a domain name (I’ll have to pay someone else to host it) but once I get the name, I want to own the name, not rent it from someone to whom I give the name idea. How do I do this? Thanks for your help!
How Can You Purchase A Domain Name Before It Actually Goes For Sale?
November 30th, 2009ie: There’s a domain name that is going to expire this year that I would like to purchase. Is there any way for me to make an advance purchase of the domain so that the moment the former owner loses control of the domain, I gain it?
I would rather wait for the domain to expire than have to purchase it from the owner. I’m likely going to park it for a little while anyway, so it’s not urgent, but I do want to acquire it.
Thanks!

August 23rd, 2009When setting up the domain names I wish to send an auto response to in yahoo mail, I find that that it simply bounces back the auto response to the mail address I am sending from. For example, If I send a mail from a domain name I am asking the service to auto respond to,it simply doesnt auto respond back to that domain name. I have tested this using two email adressess. All that happens is that the auto response appears in the mail account I am sending from. Please help!!!
