I got a call from someone stating that he represented a company that produced editing software and they were creating product names and then searching to see if they already existed. I had a website, now defunct, that bore a name they wanted to use. I still own the domain name. They offered $250 for me to turn it over to them. No problem, but what sorts of things should I know in order to be sure it’s a legitimate deal and I’ll actually get a check? What would you do?

It seems like with the right name you could get a lot of traffic but this is new to me. I guess it may be a pretty good investment. Are their prices better than others or are those particular names the same price everywhere?
