Not All Domain Names are created equal

March 20th, 2011

Choose the right domain name and your business is a step
for the competition. Get it wrong and you'll get left
behind. It's as simple as that. Domain names are fundamental
to rank your website in search engines. And
search engines will account for 90% of traffic
arriving at your site. You need traffic. Afterall a
site without traffic is like a shop empty of any
customers.

For example, the choicethe domain a lot of thought. This is actually
accounts for more than 20% of the factors that a search
engine considers the position of your site. In other words
get the domain right and you will rank higher and get more
traffic … get it wrong and you will be working for
yourself trying to get the domain to get noticed in search
engine listings.

So where to start.

In the first place, you have your target market know.
What is the natureyour business. Boil it down to a
single word. Any business can be described in one word.
What's yours? Do not try to describe your business in two
words or a phrase. Think again and get it down to a
one word … This can be done.

domains can be a real gold mine to be! A good resource for the decay
domains and one I use myself is Deleted Domains "at:

You can search for domains in the decay

available to register. The advantage of a remote
domain is that it may have been a search presence
And if you're really lucky you can find one with a ton
back links to immediately kick start your search
engine marketing.

Search for a domain with your keyword and so few other
extra letters as possible. The shorter the domain the better.
And keep away from hyphens and numbers.Whatever you
here on the forums, do hyphens and numbers help search
engine ranking. In fact you want as few characters as
possible. Most importantly, your actual query and

So remember, domain names are all are created equal when it

February 8th, 2010

I got a call from someone stating that he represented a company that produced editing software and they were creating product names and then searching to see if they already existed. No problem, but what sorts of things should I know in order to be sure it’s a legitimate deal and I’ll actually get a check? What would you do?
