Who actually owns domain names? If you “register” the domain name, do you then own the name? Is there only one entity with whom you have to register the name (i.e. is there an official governmental (or any other authorizing body)?)
I want to register a domain name (I’ll have to pay someone else to host it) but once I get the name, I want to own the name, not rent it from someone to whom I give the name idea. How do I do this? Thanks for your help!
