Domain Names: Why you should invest in them

February 15th, 2011

Domain names are basically your online address. When people type in the address bar it takes to bring it into your website, what is your space on the web. Anyone can make a name buying their own domain if you are not licensed a special, and they are usually very cheap.

Many webmasters or bloggers prefer not domain names to get their own, and will instead operate their business or blog under a subdomain. That's good, but if you're seriousabout making money online, then you should definitely consider investing in a domain name.

So why you have your own domain.

There are many reasons why. The main reason is because it just looks more professional, while a subdomain can tell your users that you are not very serious about your business.

Plus your own domain name will be much easier for others to remember, as opposed to a subdomain, whichincludes your domain, plus the domain of the site where your blog or website is hosted. For example, a unique domain name would you look like this: "yourdomain.com", where as a subdomain would look like this: yourdomain.mydomain.com. See the difference? Your own domain is much shorter, plus it will be easier to remember.

Another great reason why you should invest in your own domain is because the site is hosting a free site to decideto quit in the future. That means you want all about rebooting. You can always use redirects, but the tape would not be worth it. So it's best to start it off right.

You can not have a hosting account, unless you have your own domain name. This means that you name service provider to use the free hosting of the sub-domain. This hosting is often not reliable, which means your site could be down a lot. It looks very bad for business when a clienttrying to make a purchase, but was unable to because the site is. It can destroy your reputation and cause you to lose lots of money.

But when you have your own domain, you can create your own hosting with a reliable hosting company. Most of them have a 99.9 per cent to time guarantee. This means your site will hardly ever be off and you can make a reliable business online contacts.

What Web Hosting Service Should I Use?

February 15th, 2010

I’ve been looking all over at different websites, but none of them are very clear.
Here’s what I need from a web-hosting service, and I’d appreciate it greatly if someone could give me a good recommendation.
I need: something that will work with a mac (most sites don’t say specifically whether their services are compatible with macs), a monthly payment plan, a service that will include a personalized domain name (only one domain name) in the plan/price, Japanese language capable, ability to run a small business, photo video and blog capable, a decent editing program that doesn’t require advanced html/web design knowledge, and at a decent price for a poor college student. The following are not neccessary, but I would like something with personalized error pages, and a decent amount of storage space (10 gigs at least), guest book mailing list and survey ability, and decent customer service.
I liked the look of Host Monster the best, but they don’t have a monthly payment plan. Help plz?

How Much Should I Pay For A Domain Name?

February 4th, 2010

The domain name I want is already in use (it’s a random site that just lists other sites) and there is a link on it saying it is possibly for sale. I clicked this link and it said to put in an offer price (which could be anything – there are no guidlines). Does anyone know how much people want for domain names? – I don’t want to spend too much but I also don’t know if what I want to spend is too low!
