Routing With Single Public Ip Address And Multiple Domain Names And Multiple Web Servers?

I have 2 domain names like a.com and b.com
and two web servers server_a and server_b and one public ip address 68.16.xx.xx. Is there any tools I can route a.com traffic to server_a and b.com traffic to server_b?
Software and hardware?
I heard cisco routers are capable of doing this? if so, which models?
or, Is there’s any software can do this (both linux and windows)

What Stopped Any Single Company From Buying Up All The Good Domain Names In The Internets Beginning?

Example lets say you were a company that had the ability to create domain names to sell….. what stopped any particular company from creating and hold for themselves all the good one word www names like … cooking.com , autos.com, or anything else you can imagine.. for themselves?
